(Thousand Oaks, CA., February 20, 2014) -- For the 17th consecutive year, Rhode Island philanthropist, Alan Shawn Feinstein of The Feinstein Foundation brings his million dollar challenge to raise money and awareness to hunger relief organizations throughout the United States, during March and April. The Foundation’s goal is to help organizations like Manna raise additional funds to help feed those in need and to raise local community awareness about hunger, and how it affects the friends and neighbors who live among us.
Mr. Feinstein sweetens the challenge by putting $1 million of his own money on the table, to be distributed to hunger relief organizations proportionately to the money they raise.
This is where the community can greatly help Manna claim a portion of the challenge money. Cash donations made from March 1
st to April 30
th will be counted, dollar for dollar toward the challenge, while food donations will be valued at $1.00 per item.
The more we raise, the bigger our piece of the Feinstein Foundation pie will be.
The Conejo Valley has always “stepped-up” where Manna is concerned and we hope we can count on you again to help us in this challenge.
