It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our esteemed former Executive Director, Jennifer Schwabauer. Jennifer’s unwavering dedication and compassionate leadership left an indelible mark on Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank and the broader Conejo Valley community.
Jennifer began her tenure as Executive Director in late 2012. For the better part of a decade, she transformed Manna from a modest 700-square-foot house into a cornerstone of hope and sustenance for thousands. Her vision culminated in the acquisition of our building on Oakview Drive. Although she never got to see the finished project, she should be credited with the expanded capacity to serve our community through her foresight and determination.
Jennifer was a master collaborator, forging strong relationships with local leaders, civic organizations, and volunteers. Her efforts not only enhanced Manna’s infrastructure but also deepened our roots within the community, ensuring that our mission to combat food insecurity remained steadfast and effective.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jennifer was the heart and soul of Manna. Her warmth, empathy, and unwavering commitment to “Neighbor Feeding Neighbor” inspired all who knew her. Under her guidance, Manna became more than a food bank—it became a sanctuary of hope and dignity for those in need.
Jennifer’s legacy is woven into every aspect of Manna’s operations and culture. Her spirit will continue to guide us as we strive to uphold the values she championed.
