Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank receives Wal-Mart grant
We are proud to announce that the Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank is a recipient of April’s Wal-Mart National Giving Program grant. The grant is awarded to non-profits across the country that focus on empowering low-income people, helping them strive to live better. Every organization selected through this Wal-Mart program receives a $1,000 grant to help fund programs and serve those in need. Manna is one of many organizations that has partnered with Wal-Mart to ensure low-income residents are fed, sent to school and provided with the services they so desperately need. According to Wal-Mart, other organizations to have previously received the grant include Feeding America, City Year, Growing Power, the American Heart Association and Dress for Success. Manna was founded in 1971 and has since provided more than 1,400 food deprived people with food assistance every month. Most of the support behind the food bank comes from private donations and local businesses, such as Wal-Mart. Without the support of the community, many programs offered through Manna would not be possible. Contact the Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank for more information about the services available for residents in the Conejo Valley and Thousand Oaks, California areas.
